According to statistics disclosed by Moroccan Custom Services, around 101,206 Moroccans living abroad have transited the various checkpoints in northeast Morocco since the beginning of "Marhaba 2013" operation on June 5, wrote daily La Nouvelle Tribune on Wednesday.
Based on these statistics, the number of Moroccans who have returned to their homeland, from June 5 o June 24, reached 58,516 Moroccans, while the number of departures totaled 42,690.
Around 30,189 people crossed the border post of Bab Melilla, while the ports of Nador and Al Hoceima recorded respectively 13,380 and 377 travelers.
The airports of Nador, Al Hoceima and Oujda recorded respectively 31,785, 23,698 and 1,777 travelers.
In terms of vehicles, the same source reported that 9,614 vehicles crossed the checkpoints in northeast Morocco.
Overall, more than 890,893 Moroccans living abroad have passed through the various checkpoints in northeast Morocco.
The Marhaba 2013 operation is still expecting these numbers to increase by next month.
