Casablanca- According to the Moroccan daily Al Massae, two police officers were injured Friday 27 in Tangier whilst attempting to get their hands on the city’s biggest drug dealers.
According to the same source, it took the local police months before they managed finally to locate the neighborhood where the network of drug dealers was based.
It was in Bani Makada, Tangier, where one of the suspects threw a big gas cylinder at the three police officers who were chasing him.
The three officers reportedly suffered injuries at the level of their heads and arms.
The local police in Tangier announced they had arrested 5 members of the said network of drug dealers.
However, the suspect responsible for the three officers’ injuries is still on the run.
Organized crime seems to become a new paradigm in Morocco, especially in big cities like of Casablanca, Fez and Tangier.
Bank robbery, motor vehicle theft and mafia crimes are all relatively new types of crimes that are currently growing gradually pervasive in the kingdom.
