Rabat- A survey by Easyvoyage has found that nearly 50 per cent of the French see Morocco as the best Islamic country for holiday.
According to the survey, 50 per cent of the 150,000 people surveyed are ready to travel to Morocco, while 28 per cent said they are intending to visit Turkey and 22 per cent are considering going to Tunisia.
63 per cent of respondents said anti-terror efforts made by the three countries have downplayed threats, adding that security is no longer a concern for them.
The price remains the most important factor for the respondents when it comes to decide where to spend the holidays.
Nearly 71 per cent of respondents said the price has an impact on their destination choice. The majority of respondents also believe that the cost of staying in their would-be holiday destination must be between 300 and 500 euros.
This comes after the French National Union of Travel Agencies (SNAV) announced in April that the number of French bookings for vacations in Morocco decreased by 36 per cent.
The terrorist threats from the Islamic State and al-Qaeda in the Islamic Maghreb (AQIM) have contributed in the decline of the numbers of French tourists travelling to Morocco.
