Rabat - Close to 100 Moroccans have been repatriated from Yemen since May 11, said on Tuesday Moroccan minister in charge of Moroccans living abroad, Anis Birou.
A total of 141 Moroccans were evacuated to Saudi Arabia, including 97 who came back to Morocco and 13 other nationals who are still in Saudi Arabia, Birou said during question-time at the Chamber of advisors.
He added that two cells were set up at the Ministry of foreign affairs and cooperation and the Moroccan consulate in Jeddah to facilitate the repatriation of nationals, explaining that the Moroccan state pays for all repatriation-associated expenses.
Morocco is among the countries taking part in the Saudi-led coalition against the Houthis rebels whose aim is to restore legitimacy in Yemen.
