Two Moroccan Airports in eDreams Worst Airports in the World List

Rabat- eDreams, the leading European online travel agency, has released its fourth annual ranking of the best and worst airports in the world 2014.Two Moroccan airports were included in the list of the 10 worst airports in the world.

The ranking, based on ratings and reviews given by thousands of eDreams customers, revealed that Casablanca Mohammed V International Airport (CMN) and Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK) are among the worst airports in the world. They ranked fourth and ninth in the list with a score of 3.28 and 3.49, respectively.

eDreams customers deemed Rio de Janeiro International Airport (GLG) in Brazil the worst airport in the world with a score of 2.93. Customers mentioned cases of stolen luggage and bad services. One passenger commented on his experience at the airport in Rio de Janeiro by saying: "My suitcase arrived two days later because it was lost on the layover. When it arrived, it was clear it had been open and I was missing things".

Another traveler commented: "The airport is a bit chaotic. There are long lines at check-in and the lounges aren't impressive".

The second worst airport on the list is the Berlin-Schönefeld Airport (SXF), Germany with a score of 2.93.  It was followed in the third position by the Beirut International Airport (BEY), Lebanon with a score of 3.23. 

As for the airports with highest overall ratings, Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) in Germany secured the first place in the 2014 ranking of the best airports in the world with a score of 4.52. Düsseldorf Airport also scored well in other categories, including occupying the second position for best bars and restaurants and gaining fifth in the category of best waiting areas.

The second position for Best Airports in the World went to San Francisco Airport (SFO), which received a score of 4.50. The Stockholm- Arlanda Airport (ARN) was ranked in third place, with an overall score of 4.48. This airport also ranks among the Top 10 in the category of best waiting rooms. In previous years, the Swedish airport ranked fifth in the global ranking of 2013 and in eighth for 2012, the report added.

the 10 best airports in the world list also included Narita International Airport (NRT), Japan (4th), Changi Airport (SIN), Singapore (5th),  Helsinki-Vantaa Airport (HEL) Finland, (6th), P.E Trudeau International Airport (YUL)  Montreal, Canada, (7th), Bangkok International Airport (BKK), Thailand, (8th), Franz Josef Strauss Airport (MUC), Munich, Germany, (9th) and Zurich Airport (ZRH), Switzerland completing the top ten.
