Seville- Chairwoman of the General Confederation of Moroccan Enterprises (CGEM), Meryem Chaqroun, called, Saturday in Seville (southern Spain), on Moroccan and Andalusian businessmen to take advantage of the regional context to further promote bilateral partnership.
"If for Morocco, Andalusia is a gateway to Europe (...), Morocco is the gateway to Africa, the continent which will register the strongest economic growth in the next five years", Bensalah Chaqroun said at the opening of the Morocco-Andalusia Economic and Business Forum.
"Trade ties between Andalusia and Morocco are not new and not the answer to short-term interests in relation to the global economic situation, but they are primarily the result of a mutual interest and real complementarity", she said, underlining that this complementarity has already enabled the implementation of several joint projects and programs.
Although it has increased, trade between Morocco and Andalusia does not reflect the rich potential that both parties can exploit together, Ms. Bensalah said, calling for further developing partnership between Moroccan and Andalusian private sectors.
Initiated by CGEM and the government of Andalusia, the Morocco-Andalusia Economic and Business Forum aims to promote trade relations and explore investment opportunities between Morocco and the Andalusian region.
