Marrakesh - The new security mechanism known as “Hadar”, created to counter security threats facing the Kingdom, was recently launched in Marrakech at Jemaa El Fna.
Following an announcement made by the Minister of the Interior concerning the Royal directive to reinforce the country’s capability to fight various threats targeting the Kingdom, “Hadar”, meaning “alert”, was launched in the famous Jemaa El Fna square, to assist state services in the protection of citizens and foreign visitors.
Abdessalam Bikrat, the Wali of the Marrakech-Tensift Al Haouz region, Mohamed Dkhissi, the chief of police in Marrakech, and local government officials officially launched the deployment of the security mechanism, which incorporates elements of the Royal Armed Forces, Royal Gendarmerie, the Police, and Auxiliary Forces.
In a press statement, the Wali of the region said that the deployment of "Hadar" is in line with Royal instructions to strengthen the current national plan to face, in a vigilant and proactive manner, the various threats that may target the security and stability of the Kingdom.
The Wali added that the transaction would enhance the Kingdom’s citizens and visitors’ sense of security, noting that the city of Marrakech is of particular importance, given its position as a global tourist destination.
