Rabat-
Moroccan swimmer Hassan Baraka successfully completed his quest of swimming across the Gulf of Aqaba on Tuesday from the Egyptian city of Dahab to the Saudi city of Maqana.
The Moroccan swimmer accomplished the challenge of crossing into five continents by swimming. He was able to reach the Maqana, the last destination of his challenge.
The Moroccan athlete, 27, crossed the Red Sea from Africa and Asia, swimming a distance of 28.11 km in eight hours and thirty minutes.
He is the first Arab swimmer to achieve this difficult goal.
Baraka started the challenge of swimming between five continents in Morocco more than a year ago. The swimmer crossed a distance of 16.6 kilometers from Africa to Europe via the Strait of Gibraltar.
The Moroccan athlete has been added to the list of the world swimmers who managed to successfully complete this challenge.
In 2012, Philippe Croizon, a Frenchman who lost all his limbs in an accident, completed a swim to link five continents using tailor-made flippers.
